What Does 1,000 Scans per Second Look Like? And, why is it valuable?

With rapid-scanning, one gets sufficient data with a single measurement (here, a single stopped-flow shot) to draw correct conclusions about his chemistry while getting precise rate constants. The following presentation runs just under 2 minutes in length. We show data provided by Olis RSM 1000 stopped-flow client Robert Blake. We use this data set to show a couple of 2D fits and then a couple of 3D fits.

The messages we hope are clear after you view this are

  • A single stopped-flow shot provides all of the data you need
  • The Olis fitting software provides effectively instantaneous calculations
  • The software is indifferent to the suitability of the fit to the raw data; it just returns the best answer it can.
  • The software is clear and easy to us
